Designs 2 Print operates an optional PDF (Portable Document Format) workflow. We still accept raw files in the formats mentioned on the "Supplying Artwork" page.
Adobe® PDF is a self-contained Postscript® format which can be used for submitting artwork for output. The advantage of PDF is that a a single self-contained portable file is created with all fonts and images embedded.
The images within a PDF can be downsampled to a variety of resolutions. A lower image resolution results in a lower file size and a lower output quality. PDF's with low resolution images are ideal for using as a downloadable document from a website, but not so good when outputting on a press.
